I'm looking for something closer to Falconer or Alestrom though, where the vocals are actually clean, or even something like Korpiklaani, as opposed to the black metal shrieks and death metal growls certain bands employ in this style.

Cruachan would be my top recommendation for folk metal. If you don't want growls go for the albums The Middle Kingdom and Folk-Lore. Those only have a couple of growled parts between them.

Pagan and The Morrigan's Call are mixed clean vocals and growls.

Tuatha na Gael, Blood on the Black Robe and to a lesser extent Blood for the Blood God are more black metal based and wouldn't be what you're looking for here, though I recommend them all, especially Blood for the Blood God.

Wilderun is partially growled (death metal styled) but has many clean vocals too. I highly recommend them especially the first album.

Sig:Ar:Tyr may also be worth a look for you. The vocals can be semi-harsh but to the extent of black and death metal.

I second both the Skiltron and Cruachan recs. If you end up liking Skiltron, you should definitely check out Triddana:  http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/artist/triddana" rel="nofollow - http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/artist/triddana

Give Finntroll a go. If you like Korpiklaani, then language obviously isn't too big a problem.
