It's hard for me to pick, since I love early metal such as Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath, but also enjoy newer metal especially in the 90's and early 2000's. Now you choose!  -------------

As far as recent years go, I'd say 2007 was a fantastic year for metal: Behold... The Arctopus - Skullgrid Between the Buried and Me - Colors Blotted Science - The Machines of Dementia Deathspell Omega - Fas � Ite, Maledicti, in Ignem Aeternum High on Fire - Death is the Communion Machine Head - The Blackening Moonsorrow - V:Havitetty The Morningside - The Wind, The Trees, and Shadows of the Past The Ocean - Precambrian Nile - Ithyphallic Portal - Outre Symphony X - Paradise Lost Devin Townsend - Ziltoid Type O Negative - Dead Again Wolves in the Throne Room - Two Hunters As for the best overall, I would have to agree with all the earlier posters saying 1980 and 1984 ------------- Lost respect for these archives when I saw Creed added, among other bands. Not going to be foruming here anymore. You can keep my reviews if you want. |

1986: Maiden: "Somewhere in Time" Priest: "Turbo" 'Tallica: "Master of Puppets" Candlemass: "Epicus Doomicus Metallicus" Fates Warning: "Awaken the Guardian" King Diamond: "Fatal Portrait" Megadave: "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying" Flootsam & Jetsam: "Doomsday for the Deceiver" These albums may be outdated now, and especially the Priest and Maiden album have received a lot of flack. But these albums are very close to my heart. -------------
