Greetings to metalheads! My name is Artyom, 19 years old, and I live in St. Petersburg which is my hometown. I always have had an interesting so-called relationship with metal. At first, thanks to my late dad I was introduced to Moscow heavy metal band Ария (Aria) at about 7-8 years old and I fell in love to Aria and Kipelov material. Then in my 10-11 years I discovered Metallica which immediately became my favourite metal band. I even loved their '90 and '00 stuff with no doubt. Then puberty came and I started to like some alternative crap. However, it passed very quickly and I started to become more and more music lover, and of course this also applied to metal. Now I want to say names of bands which I deeply or almost deeply love and which are in MetalMusicArchives (I'll mark these bands with Italic which aren't on this site but they have to be in MMA base):

Anathema, The Angelic Process, Big Black, Converge, Cult of Luna, Death, Death Engine, Deftones, Godflesh, Hypno5e, Isis, Katatonia, Neurosis, Nine Inch Nails, Olhava, Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Swans, Toluca, Ulver

I'm a little excited joining there but it's ok. Anyway, I'm really happy to join this community! I hope i find more awesome bands thanks to this site. Let's go. Big smile

Hi Artyom, it’s great to have you here. There’s a couple of bands on your list I’m not that familiar with but most I am, and you have some great taste there. I tried to get my kids into metal at an early stage (three kids) but only managed it with one of them 😁 Enjoy exploring the site!

Welcome to MMA Tongue

It´s not often I hear anyone mentioning The Angelic Process. I listened to one of their albums once upon a time, and I remeber enjoying it.

I hope you stay and enjoy the site.

I guess you talk about Weighing Souls With Sand. Definitely my top 1 of drone metal and a really unique experience for me.

Yeah you are right, it was that one. I see now that I was actually the one who added the artist to MMA. I don´t really remember adding them though. It must have been some years ago LOL.
