Just made my first noise/experimental/programatic/ambient/industrial/music concrete/thingy album...

The album is called Whatever Is Created Cannot Be Destroyed

It is quite metal at times, with a good focus on drone, feedback and at times quite harsh noises. Their is also an industrial feel to it as well...
check me out!

So would you consider it avant garde or industrial. We have to put a label on it, to get it included here on MMA you know!

Seemed kind of avant garde to me, but it could be industrial too I guess.

It barely even sounds like metal to me, and sounds like straight drone so even if it were to be included it wouldn't be under industrial or avant-metal, I don't think.

If its drone I think it goes to avant garde unless its clearly doom/ drone. Than it goes to doom.

Anyway, avant team is always the slowest to respond, so I'll get back to you whenever someone answers me LOL

Seeing as how the other member of the AG team seems to be on hiatus, I guess my position stands.  For now, The Oracle is rejected for avant-garde metal, although I've recommended a move to industrial metal.

Oh ok.. it is quite industrial anyway

I'm no expert on how to categorize this type of ambient music, but as the only industrial metal team member currently active on the site, I wouldn't be comfortable adding this project under that subgenre.  I can't remember there being other bands under industrial currently that perform this type of noise (You do call it "noise" on your profile don't you?  Wink), at least none of the ones I've added or edited the profiles.

Most industrial projects I end up adding usually have some "metallic" guitar presence/riffing coupled with a strong percussive element, which may or may not be produced by sampling or drum machines.   Comparing your project to current MMA industrial bands, the similarities aren't that obvious to me.

Any other opinions? Question

well the new album im working on has a more kind of industrial like moments...with looped drumbeats...heavy bass, distorted nosie and other stuff...little bits of ambient as well...and it's hard to classify what I do cause to be honest, it only makes sense in my head

When is that one expected to be finished?  Perhaps it will give us more insight as to the placement of your music

NEW ALBUM...THINGY! theoracle1.bandcamp.com

its called The Infinite Sporadic, and its a 36 minute piece split into 5 parts. It's quite post metal/noise and avante garde, mixed with dark ambient

Interesting stuff.  Unfortunately, The Bottomless Pit and maybe The Ghost Machine are the only new tracks I would describe as metal in any capacity.  Nice experimental/industrial/drone, but not so much metal.
