Lord of The Rings and Labirinto Del Fauno are not Sci-fi! They are awesome, but not Sci-Fi!

Out of the ones listed above, I have to go with "Empire...".
I love sci-fi cinema in all its forms, but I will not hesitate to judge sci-fi flick that I think suck very harshly - like "The X-Men" or "Matrix II and III", which I think are all special effects and absolutely no interesting content whatsoever.

I must admit that I prefer flicks like "The Forbidden Planet" or "The Day the Earth Stood Still" (the original one) to a lot of the post-2000 sci-fi flicks. I also have a weakness for really kitchy stuff like "Flash Gordon" from 1980 and the "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century"-series (although I am not a big fan of the pilot episode).

Of those films, I still haven't seen Avatar, Contact, or Pan's Labyrinth. From the rest, Blade Runner, T2, 2001, and Empire stand out the most.
Some favorites not on the list: Total Recall and 12 Monkeys.

"Total Recall" and "12 Monkeys" are great and so are "Blade Runner" and "Fifth Element".

^I saw 12 monkeys a few months ago for the first time. Great movie indeed!
Sooo many fantastic movies on the list, shit, I can't decide! I absolutely love Contact, District 9, Space Oddysey and... Wall-E ... but I'll go with Blade Runner, an amazing, amazing film.
If you want to know my opinion (I'm sure you do ), I find Inception rather overrated, but still a good movie with a twist. Don't get that huge hype though... It just lacks depth (just like all Nolan's films to be honest).

To be perfectly honest, I find "Alien" and "Aliens" incredibly boring for some reason. I like the three Predator flicks though (I haven't seen the "Alien vs. Predator" movies yet) because of all the insane violence in them. The same applies to "Robocop I and II", which I think are brilliant ultraviolent sci-fi flicks, while the third one is a lame and tame attempt to make Robocop family-friendly.

i liked Demolition Man with Stalone and Snipes and Bullock, it is hillarious when Stallone is woken up with the ability to nitt sweaters, out of pure instict without thining of it,,,, ;:D

PAN'S LABYRINTH is a beautiful and actually quite gruesome movie too. I like it

Lord Of The Rings by far. I don't like Science Fiction so that clears the list pretty much.

Blade Runner - tough to pass up indeed...though Pan's was close too. Lighting's pretty ace throughout

Why hasn't 2001 A Space Odyssey won yet?
It's the only good film ever made.

Of the ones listed I'd have to say Pan's Labyrinth(even though I don't consider it pure sci fi), amazing movie! A shame Alien and/or Aliens wasn't up there, would've probably voted for one of those!
