How about a thread dedicated to those intro tracks put at the beginning of albums that feature almost no metal music qualities to set the mood to a metal album?

Such as these:

and probably the best one ever:

Probably my favorite intro of all times. And it does help that its the intro to one of my favorite albums tooBig smile:

This one is of course a classic too (the intro is over after a minute):

This one might be a little cheesy but its so grand and epic it works!!!

Sometimes the lack of an intro can be just as powerful as an intro - just check out the very firsttrack on Asphyx' "Deathhammer"

^A song with a name like "Deathhammer" doesn't need an intro!

I will post no video, but the Metallica intros are very interesting. Just listen to Damage Inc., Battery, Fight Fire with Fire, etc.

Hmm...all I can remember of now is Slayer's "Darkness of Christ".

Why is six afraid of seven? Because seven ate nine.

You have the right idea. Thumbs Up

bartoso and SoulDreamer do too.  Tupan, I'm actually looking for separate songs.  I can see what you're getting at with "Moonchild", but Iron Maiden has not (and probably never will) make intro songs for their albums ("Ides of March" does not count).

Hey Wilytank, so listen to the first song from Alice in Hell, by Annihilator. Great Intro.

The song Polyphony is the intro for The New Black, by Strapping Young Lad. In the album they are separate songs, but in the video below both songs are together in a segue:
