a-ha is the most famous band in and outside of Norway, the most selling musical act actualy,  with almost 100 million sold issues of albums, singles and dvds, theyr output spans from synth pop/rock, alternative rock, pop/rock, dream pop and mainly pop rock, but also feature one of the greatest voices of rock history namely Morten Harket whos belting range is up there with Jeff Buckley, Matthew Bellamy, yes even the mighty Freddy Mercury ( - stage pressance)

often feals the artistic merrits of a-ha is overshadowed by Take on Me, but their albums are filled with good tracks that span from up-beat synth rock, atmopherical ballads, and more hard edged alternative rock songs, even some semi-post-punk-tracks as Train of Thought, some songs have good arangements and climaxes and instrumentation

their are even metal covers of famous a-ha tracks

here are some tracks that are not so famous

Most relevant to... ska fans!

Take on Me is really a good song. But I don't know their other songs.

"Hunting High and Low": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hunting_High_and_Low" rel="nofollow - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hunting_High_and_Low  and "Scoundrel Days": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scoundrel_Days" rel="nofollow - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scoundrel_Days  are classics in my book. I have both on vinyl.

I dont think Ive listened to the three next albums but I got hooked when they released the comeback album: "Minor Earth Major Sky": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minor_Earth_Major_Sky" rel="nofollow - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minor_Earth_Major_Sky . I also listened quite a lot to the predecessor: "Lifelines": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lifelines" rel="nofollow - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lifelines  which is a really great album too.

...here is a link to their wiki page if anyone wants to learn more about the band: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A-ha" rel="nofollow - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A-ha

i don't know what sould apeal to metal heads about this band, but i think their music have sort of atmophere, and freshness which few new-wave/synth pop bands have, i guess it is the same sound which gives the nordic metal bands their distinctive ness, the cold, sound, the airyness, but they also have an international edge to them which makes them also apeal to worldwide,

i also think they are more artistc then their roumers,

this might interest Tupan

I love the music of a-ha; the song Scoundrel days has got to have one of the best vocal performances ever, honestly; whether they played synth pop, pop rock or alternative rock, they always did it right. Their last 2 albums are nice as well (Analogue and Foot of the Mountain)

I post a video of a song of theirs i love (from 1993 if I remember right)
