and Queensryche is heavyly inpired by Saga, and i also think some members of Dream Theater is, James LaBrie is from Canada so i think he is heavly influenced by Saga (as he have stated of being fan of AOR and heavy pomp rock) and Michael Sadler is a good influence for many operatic singers, so yes i think Saga is important for the shaping of metal -------------

No idea, but I like them. I think actually it's more a question of metal shaping Saga, as it sounds like they got inspired by metal an hard rock in the late 90s. -------------

Their early albums were maybe an influence on progressive metal but from this to saying they helped shape metal, it's a long way.

I'm having a bit of a falling out with them after listening to Signals and Grace Under Pressure. The former is still pretty good, the latter is weaker. From what I hear, they get weaker from that point onward. -------------
