about to grab a 2nd myself Rawkshahaah... and chase it with some Devin Townsend.  Put him on my list.. but a very recent addition... only in the last month have I started listening to his albums.. and haven't found one that I haven't enjoyed.  Since I am only a hardass at work.. not with music.. that is good enough to make my favorite's list.

Deceased - Quality death tinged thrash with an obsession on all things zomboid.
Falkenbach - Epic viking metal. About as good as this genre gets.
Nile - Brutal and epic, sometimes at the same time.
Nightwish - The Tarja stuff, obviously, Wishmaster being a favourite album, though the track Dark Chest of Wonder gets my heart pounding.
Slayer - Need I even elaborate?
Iron Maiden - Timeless heavy metal.  These guys will still be popular in the next millenia.
Aborym - Brutal and stripped down technological black metal.  Awesome

It was Nightwish for a long time, but I'm not a fan of their new direction and vocalist, so I'd probably say Kamelot and Iron Maiden, or the new band Keldian.

My list is ranked Space Wolves style.  I have several tied for biggest favorite until I decide one of them gets to be The Great Wolf (Chapter Master).
