According to Blabbermouth there are some pretty serious rumours that Peter Steele from Type O Negative died yesterday: http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=138511 - http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=138511

Apparently Type O Negative made a joke on their homepage in 2005 about Peter Steele having died, so everybody are a bit confused right now. Wiki have already updated the Type O Negative page too: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_O_Negative - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_O_Negative

That's horrible! I was just spinning Bloody Kisses yesterday, what a great album. Great musician, and will be sorely missed.

Lost respect for these archives when I saw Creed added, among other bands. Not going to be foruming here anymore. You can keep my reviews if you want.

I saw Type O twice live...95 and 97...the first time they were opening for Queensryche and the second time they were headlining with Fear Factory, Powerman 5000, and Drain STH opening. What a wierd bill. Both times were good shows.

RIP big guy.

Yes RIP indeed. I saw Type O on the tour for Bloody Kisses and again on the Tour for October Rust. Peter Steele was quite a charismatic frontman. My wife really digged him too.

Wow! Im a bit shocked!Shocked
I was not a big fan, but there were songs that I digged (I think I saw them open for Queensryche as well).
Its weird to that I've been wanting to get the re-issues of his crossover band (before TypeO) "Carnivor", since I only have them on LP.
Well . . .
I wish his Family and Friends my condolences, he inspired alot of people and helped a "Genre" of Metal
grow.
God bless Peter.

Another casualty in the world of rock, very sad indeed. However, I bet the gigs in the afterlife are getting pretty kickass these days, so that's one good reason not to fear death isn't it?
