Measuring 'most influential' is always tough IMO. If truth be told, I don't think it's something that can be measured to any precise degree when comparing multiple important bands, but for the sake of this poll, I'd probably say Black Sabbath. All 3 were hugely influential (obviously), but Sabbath is the band that still is most audible in modern metal. Since we're only talking Metal then I think it is definitely Sabbath as whole sub genres can be blamed on them  and I hear Iommi riffs all over the place. Zeppelin would be my choice if the poll included Rock. |
