I liked Chuck�s voice before he went too high pitched and processed on the last Death album, but John Tardy has always had a special place in my book. I'll go with Chuck since I am listening to Death at this very moment  Besides some of John Tardy's stuff is just noises rather than words  not meant as a criticism!

I think Chuck Schuldiner was a more talented musician overall, but John Tardy's vocals are probably more impressive (if only narrowly IMO). I like Tardy's vocals better. They're an acquired taste but they're much more distinguished. As Jonas said, he's probably one of the most easily recognizable voices in death metal, for what it's worth. Can't make any comparisons beyond that. |

I still need to buy myself copies of those albums. I remember loving the clips I've heard from both, but they are expensive as fuck online and I've yet to run across them in record stores.
