Hi all,

We are very proud to announce a new MMA feature , the Quick Rating, shorten to QR.

This feature allows logged members to quick rate releases on:

  • Homepage reviews
  • Genre TOP albums
  • Artist discography

This feature main objective is to increase the number of ratings to get more representative genre and artists top albums. And, soon, global top albums :-D

About the sub-genres top albums, we also will update the query to prevent non-albums and non-EPs to appear in the list.

Remember that members who decide to edit/post a review after having quick rate a release, will have their review posted on the homepage. No change about that. The correct "rating weight" will be applied after the review text is submitted.

So, no reason to wait for a review before rating anymore Embarrassed

MMA members, enjoy the quick rating feature (coming soon on PA too)

Cool idea.  I usually prefer to back up a rating with a review at all times, but at least this method gives us more options. Thumbs Up

I have avoided giving only ratings but I guess that'll change. :-)

^yes to get the site looking good its kind of necessary. I usually dont rate without writing a review.

I'm not sure the correct weighing is applied after submitting a review. Question

I just reviewed The Black Album by Metallica, first by doing a rating only and submitting the review a bit later.  I don't think the weighing changed after attaching the text review to the rating.  It changed to 3.25 when I did the rating only, and it didn't budge after that. I don't remember what the album's rating was prior to my rating though.

I'm almost 100% certain of that, but if anyone else is willing to try the same thing (rating first, review second), please post your results because I may be mistaken. Smile

Great! I'll be giving out a lot of ratings today, even though I don't usually do stuff like that.

Anything to increase the reputability of the site. Thumbs Up If we get enough ratings in, you can always go back and write a review for them.

I noticed something similar, but it seems collaborator ratings seem to be weighted. I forget what album it was, but there was one 4 star rating, and when I rated it, it dropped to 3.33 rather than 3.5 as it should have.
