I suspect that I know where this will go, however, I believe that these are all of the major studio releases that the late, great Ronnie James Dio provided lead vocals on.  I have not included his guest appearances and accept for Elf, I have not included anything pre-Rainbow.  Which of these releases is your favorite? In the event that I missed an album (there always seem to be one that gets missed) or if one of his guest appearances is your favorite, such as Kerry Livgren's Seeds of Change or Hear 'N Aid, I have made an Other response available.  RIP.

Heaven and Hell wins by a hair over Rising. Both belong to my personal Top 10 - simply perfect albums that every self-respecting metalhead should hear at least once (and possibly more).

I haven't heard quite enough of these to vote... I only have 4 or 5 Dio-related albums. Disapprove

Every one of these albums has at least one or two bright spots to them.  Yes, the DIO albums are hampered by 80's metal sound and 80's production, but those were my teenage years and developmental years and albums that have sentimental value to someone like me.  Lock Up the Wolves was the only tour that I saw him with, and honestly, I was blown away by that album when it came out.  Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow is certainly a favorite of mine.  Of course, Heaven and Hell will probably get the most votes as that is an epic masterpiece.  Personally, my vote is probably going to be between Holy Diver and Last In Line.  I'll have to give it some thought and probably a tribute listen.

Same here.  3 Rainbow albums along with Heaven and Hell by Sabbath.  I'm familiar with his first 3 "Dio" albums though.

I suspect that many would probably rate Sacred Heart as his worst release but I used to absolutely love Rock N Roll Children.  It was the video that really made that song for me, although I suppose it would probably be considered super cheesy by today's standards.

I had such a crush on the girl in this video.

it's hard to pick but in his Rainbow era, probably Dio is still growing and a bit overshadowed by Blackmore's persona, Heaven and Hell is a good pick though but I guess Holy Diver for me :)

These two are my favourites as well in the same order, but as I've only this year started to really get into his works I haven't heard enough to make a vote. So far I know everything he did with Sabbath and Heaven & Hell, Rising, Holy Diver and the few tracks on the Very Best of Rainbow. I'm planning to buy at least the two missing Rainbow albums and the mentioned Holy Diver (the one I listened to was borrowed from library), perhaps some other solo stuff when the time comes.

For me, Rising.

Such a classic album and the first I played in tribute to Ronnie.

Same here, but after that I couldn't bring myself to listen to him any more. His passing really hit me hard, even if I didn't know him personally.

other : 'Live Evil'
Simply one of the best live albums ever.

There has always got to at least be one.  As I noted in the opening thread I was listing studio albums.  I could be wrong as they may or may not of re-recorded it in the studios, but Live Evil is not a studio album.  That said, I am irritable right now, and it is a great live album.

Love many of these albums, but I'm going with the underrated Strange Highways.
