Hi all, First, thank you all for the nice response to our invitation to join MMA and collaborate with us on this new and exciting project. As the site gets more and more active, the need for finding content managers increase, so we have decided to let members suggest themselves here (below) as future website animator and moderator. We will elect them Monday, Enjoy your week-end, Graphix

Hi Graphix,
I'm a special collaborator for the progressive metal team at ProgArchives, and I'd love to help out here at MMA. Let me know if I can provide any help

I don't know if she wants to.... but I definitely suggest Raff. She has PA's admin experience and the good sense to guide a fledgling site

I don't have any experience with website collaboration, other than writing reviews, but if we end up going with the team format (as with Jeff above in the Progressive Metal section at PA), I hereby nominate myself for Glam Metal.

You would make a good teammate as well, assuming we can agree to disagree about Winger.

thanks!!!!!!... but passing on that kind of committment. I left the teams I established, with teamates I adore, on PA's for being burned out on that kind of work . Just enjoying helping when I can.. and trolling when I can't

It is true that I have had experience as an Admin on PA, but I don't really think I was very successful. In any case, if you need a hand at least with the technical aspects of being an Admin (like moving threads and such), I'd be glad to be of help.

Im definitely interested in contributing to MMA in some way. I have some experience in team work from my time with the PMT on PA ( writing bios, adding albums..etc). My knowledge in metal lies mostly in the extreme metal genres ( mostly in death metal, grindcore and thrash metal but also avant garde/ experimental stuff and some black metal), but I listen to a wide variety of genres in metal ( and other music too, but thats not really the issue here is it?). Im very interested in hearing what roles ( jobs if you will) there is a need for here on MMA. Im itching to get to work ( just noticed a few missing cover pictures and compilation albums on the Psychotic Waltz page and that started a bad itch) .

I think you were very successful.... you were just a victim of the nastier side of PA's which I hope stays far away from this site. You did the right thing in stepping down... you had more important things to worry about.... like beating all those Italian men off with a stick while we were apart. Be fair to yourself... it was a very difficult time for the both of us. Especially you since you were leaving everything to come here.

If there's room for a wild card jumping in and doing some stuff here and there in the database I can always spend a few minutes on that from time to time. I don't have the capacity to go in as a regular team member though - and certainly not as an admin - but some tinkering here and there I think I've proven myself to be rather good at over at PA :-)

I'm not sure if I have the credentials to be any sort of collaborator for a specific genre of music as I don't think my metal tastes are rooted into one genre, but if there's any way I can assist on a part-time or non-consistent basis, let me know.

I'm no expert on any particular field of metal, but I could offer my humble services to the errors & omissions team, if there is to be one.

If needed give me a yell Scott ( Rushfan) is the man I nominate before myself. If anyone wants to know anything about the Aussie scene. Eastern side mainly I may be able to help with the up and comers in the local scene. I will leave the rest to all you metal masters

I wouldn't mind a position relating to Prog Metal/Avant-Metal or something like that. I'm a member of the Prog Metal team on PA, and I'd help out here if ya'll need me.

In case there's any position open related to the black metal section of MMA, I'm all for it! It's true that I'm a newbie to the PA / MMA system but it doesn't look impossible to handle. I have been contributing to various sites quite actively before (MA and RYM for example) so it's not a whole new world.

As an existing collaborator with PA I'd agree with some of the other comments already made and would be happy to contribute in some form.

I'm a prog reviewer over on PA, and I regularly write bios/assist with album additions for the Prog metal team over there, so I'd love to help out with avant-metal, folk metal and/or possibly doom metal, although I'm only a bit familiar with doom stuff.

Max, I notice in the album pages that Collabs will have there own reviews section for each album, for example:
Specialists/Collaborators Reviews
No PAIN OF SALVATION specialists/experts music reviews posted yet.
Does this mean that there will be experts/specialists per band?
Just trying to work out how genre-teams would operate if the MMA is Album-based.

No, not per band, but definitely per sub-genre, like PA. We just create a section for Metal Reviewer (like the PROG REVIEWER status on PA) aka: Specialists/Experts Music Reviewer.
We might change this to something better self-explanatory, suggestion ?

When are we getting the results?

Removing the band name would help, or just re-ordering it:
"No specialists/experts have posted PAIN OF SALVATION [album name] reviews yet"

Not to even mention the situation in which I'm going to live the next few months: the school is over, no jobs to get during this recession, and the girlfriend is busy with her school things.
...so what else I'm going to do than listen to some music? ;-)
