I�m old so it�s old school for me. ... and I think you should remove Djent. There are probably some death metal related acts who use the playing style, but it�s not a style that is usually associated with death metal. Missing: Progressive Death Metal Symphonic Death Metal Death-Thrash Blackened Death Metal Death 'n' Roll You could also have included Power-Death if you wanted to be even more complete, but it's rarer hybrid style so its absence isn't felt as much as the above for me. I agree that djent isn't death metal. Actually I don't think djent is even a legit genre but that's not a discussion for this thread. Grindcore is its own genre as well, not a sub-genre of death metal. Death-grind is a hybrid that does count though. You only really needed that one on the poll. Also in my opinion a lot of melodic death metal , especially the newer releases sound very different from death metal. in my opinion it should have it's own genre like grindcore has. |
