It can make a big difference for me. Generic scores really take away a lot of impact and exceptional scores can bring the whole thing to life on another level. But I guess there's a range of "good" scores that do their job but don't really affect the overall movie quality.

yeah, I remember when I was watching Source Code with Jake Gyllenhaal and how the generic score ruined it for me. It's a pretty good sci-fi film, but the soundtrack's just... terrible. I don't really like to watch movies in general (it's weird but well, I don't care) and when I do, the music can literally ruin or redeem the experience for me.
