It seems Psychotic Waltz have reunited and have begun recording demos for their next album. Im a bit confused about the lineup info though???

WOW!!!
Thats awesome!!! But I'm a bit confused about the members as well as it says this on the Home
Page at Face Book:
Members:
2010 Norman Leggio Drums, Brian McAlpin Guitar,
Steve Cox Guitar, Ward Evans Bass,
Dan Rock Guitar, Phil Cuttino Bass, Buddy Lackey
Vocals
Curiously the bottom list is seperated from the names on top, are they "guest" players??? Or
did someone not know how to "format" (like me!).
I read somewhere that Devon Graves (a.k.a. "Buddy Lackey") was the one that instigated the
idea of reuniting the band, but the other members would not respond . . .
I guess their was a change of heart.
Cool to see my 2 friends from prOgulus.com showing thier "Like" for the news, as they are
fellow PW fanatics . Hi Dario (Progressive Lunatic/PL) and Nick (Satanic)!!!
Thanx for the news UMUR!

From the look of it neither Buddy Lackey nor Dan Rock is in the current lineup???. That doesnt sound too promising IMO. While the other members of the band were also important for the bands sound I think those two are THE most important part of what made Psychotic Waltz such a unique act.
To be honest Im a bit worried.

If Buddy and Dan are in the lineup, this should be one of the most surprising years for you, Jonas! A reunited Atheist AND Psychotic Waltz.
Although, if those two members aren't present, I think I'm with you Jonas. It won't be the same at all...

Completely agree, there's no way they'll be the same band. I wish they'd have just let things be, but who knows maybe it'll be awesome! (but probably not)

Its pretty crazy really! Two of my favorite acts have reunited and are working on albums. It doesnt get much better than that.

Pretty sad it would be without Dan . . . but without Devon? My God! He's the "Voice!"
I've got Athiest, Special Defects, Watchtower, Forbidden, INC. and who knows - "Sabbat" (u.k.)
to look forward to as well ! (with slim chances of Realm, Powermad and another album
from the re-united Confessor). And if anyone remembers the Tech-Thrash Band Psychosis
(members now in the Tech-Thrash/Math Metal Band Prototype) are shopping around their 3
song demo (which I have and is great!), while Prototype are also working on a Sci-Fi Concept
Album .

Needless to say, this was your year Jonas. Hopefully that means 2011 will be my year... and I demand an Edge of Sanity reunion!!

Bingo!
Heres the Article I read about Devon and PW back in 2009, so alot could have happened
since then:

http://www.bravewords.com/static/medias/images/news/125391.jpg">
In a recent interview to Rocking.gr, Devon Graves discusses about the past, the present and the future of his music career.
Devon closes the chapter of a possible PSYCHOTIC WALTZ reunion,
claiming that it would take a miracle to happen. I have tried over and
over again to make it happen. We were offered 20,000 Euros for a single
concert. So if that couldnt convince those guys, then I dont think
anything will.
He also refers to the end of DEADSOUL TRIBE, while he praises his new band The Shadow Theory, as well as his new bandmates.
In addition, Demi Scott, keyboardist and composer of The Shadow
Theory, for the first time tells the story behind the formation of the
new supergroup, making an introduction to what we are about to listen
and raising the bar high.
The Shadow Theory lineup includes Krisstofer Gildenlow (ex-PAIN OF
SALVATION), Mike Terrana (ex-RAGE, TARJA, MASTERPLAN, MALMSTEEN,
MCALPINE) and guitarist Arne Schuppner. "
Personally, I think Brian McAlpin, Buddy Lackey (Devon Graves), Dan Rock, Norm Leggio, and Ward
Evans had a "sound" that made them who they infamously are. I just checked out their "official" site
and it hasnt been touched since 2006!:

Me too UMUR
But I guess Dan has a great day job and a Family Its the same thing that Joey Vera told
me when I saw Redemption for their CD release Party for their 3rd release, I asked, if they do
a new (man its been awhile) Fates Warning album, would Frank Aresti come back?
Joey then said, "Well the thing is Frank has a great Day Job so it be very difficult to get the
time" . . .
But it seems after the last show I seen them (what the heck tour was that!?) when we CHEERED
on "Frank Frank Frank!!!" he caught the Bug again .
. . . Maybe Dan will too, and maybe even Portnoy! (oops, sorry) .
Also, forgive if this is "Un PC" but I saw a Pic . . . somewhere, where Dan Rock was out of his
"Wheelchair"? Was it on the Bleeding album? So it must have been an injury that was under
treatment? . . . I never knew the story .
And yes, Scurvydog! Are you hangin' out at Blue Meanie Records?
http://www.myspace.com/bluemeannierecords - http://www.myspace.com/bluemeannierecords
Thats where Leggio gave me a copy of Bleeding ! Right from the Studio!
(Damn that I didnt get it signed!).
. . . are you a PW informant!?

Yeah Dan got badly injured, but its actually Brian who is permanently confined to a wheelchair. Theres a lot of wha wha pedal abuse on the early albums by the band and live it was a roadie who controlled Brians wha wha pedal during the sections where that was needed. I remember Brian didnt tour for The Bleeding. Steve Cox took his place on that tour because Brian had a hard time touring and keeping in shape at the same time ( which is a critical thing when youre paralyzed from the waist down). Now it seems that the one who was replaced and his replacement will play together

I Thought Dan was the Guitarist in the Wheelchair and McAlpin was the guy with the "Half Goutee" and the weird Sculptured Guitar . . . me confusin'!
Stand corrected!
Just looked at their photos at their old Site, I guess I always thought they were the other names .

Gladly pay for them, 1 for myself and 1 for my fave Prog Rock/Metal Internet Station Progulus.com
(please PM me), and know that the station JUST got the last 3 PW albums about 3 months ago from
our friend in Germany named Dario a.k.a. "Progressive Lunatic", we all get to enjoy them!
Hope all is working out in the Studio guys!
And to remind fans and the uninitiated of their GREATNESS . . .

Not a member of PW,actually, just a member of the PW family spreading the news. In regards to promos and such,I can't really guarantee anything, your best bet would be to contact the band directly through their Facebook page,as they are the administrators of that page.Hopefully Norm and/or Steve have a few Teabag discs sitting around...Nice to know there are still fans out there....

I am blown away by the response over Psychotic Waltz. I am really looking forward! In the meantime, please dont overlook my other band, The Shadow Theory. We have a new album out this November (October for the US) 2010. This album could be the highpoint of my career (so far). My intention is to be in both bands for the... future. Enjoy The Shadow Theory while Psychotic Waltz writes the new album. You have time:) Love, D
