Been listening to this a lot lately. I havent seen any mention of there being a new album coming but if this song is any indication then I am so incredibly here for it! If you told me this was an unreleased song off of The Ride Majestic album then I would believe it. |

^^ A great start. Sounds promising. They are under pressure to come up with something special with Portnoy coming back.

First new song with Portnoy in 15 years, and also one of their heaviest since then

An EP. I had hoped it would be another album coming but this will do as a tideover. It's only four new songs though plus an acoustic version of The Wonders Still Awaiting and orchestral versions of the four. Two of the new songs are already available. |

This doesn't seem to have been officially announced yet, but the info has appeared online and seems legit plus it was expected since they dropped a single already. Not out until 2025 though.

I have the albums but not any of the EP's. Well worth getting as clearly this new one will be.

It was - apparently features the current main guy of Tangerine Dream too!
Feel like I need to order this one. I don't actually own any Blood Incantation yet.

^ Yes me too, especially as I've gone for the boxset. Disappointing nevertheless as it's my most eagerly anticipated album of the year.

I'd rather the wait than get an inferior product though.
Back in 2012, there was a fuck-up with Epica's Requiem for the Indifferent album. The album shipped with the last track in some sort of pre-production version missing most of the vocals. I've never, ever bought the physical CD because of that because even though it was fixed, there's no way to differentiate between the releases to make sure I'm be getting the fixed product. The band and label have never confirmed a definitive reissue that is guaranteed problem free.

Less of a surprise than the first one and though still solid not as good. High hopes for the new album though.

By far the best single so far, though I do think this is a rare case where an abbreviated version would have been even better. Still, if there's more tracks like the first few minutes of this, I'll be very happy!

Both tracks have been voted as primarily prog metal on RYM, and I agree, so it definitely does look like it could be their hvaviest album since at least Watershed. I also really like both tracks, and I already enjoyed their previous album a lotwhen I listened to it recently, so I have a feeling this could be my favorite since Ghost Reverie, if the remaining tracks deliver.

To my ears there the metal riffs and hard edged playing is back, so it matters less that probably not all tracks on the album features growling. That´s not a deal breaker for me. But I´ve missed the metal riffs and heaviness of their metal oriented releases.
