And I can add a few more to that:
1. Sabaton - Heroes
2. Dynazty - Renatus
3. Freedom Call - Beyond
4. Dragonforce - Maximum Overload
5. Brainstorm - Firesoul
6. Sonata Arctica - Pariah's Child
7. Twilight Force - Tales of Ancient Prophecies
8. Nightmare - The Aftermath
9. Amberian Dawn - Magic Forest
10. Noble Beast - S/T

I'll stop myself at 10, so I don't go way overboard.

Thanks for the recommendations Wink. I agree with you, 'Vetelgyus' is awesome. Btw, I recommend you the new album of Skywings (excellent japanese power metal band) ' Vice Versa'

The new Elvenking and Persuader albums have been the power metal highlights of the year so far for me.

And Scar Symmetry, if you include progressive death metal mixed with power metal :P

I was sifting thru the 'Progressive Metal' part of this site, and found these guys from Iran of all places. Whispers In Crimson, they sound a bit more power metal that progressive metal to my ears, and sound pretty darned good

Someone in the comments section on one of those videos says the singer is the guy from Sinbreed

I'd personally add Riot's 'Unleash the Fire' to that list...monster of an album! New vocalist is great(even better than the others imo, yes, even Tony Moore)!Clap

Gamma Ray's Empire of the Undead was pretty awesome to me. I would second Heroes and Pariah's Child as well for sure. The new Edguy album was great too.

Falconer - Black Moon Rising is great, can't think of anything else, I'll get back to it when I do.

Sinbreed - Shadows was my second favourite power metal album last year after Falconer.
