^ that was pretty good. I didn't really like their last album much. Just seemed a little forgettable so nice to know they've regained their mojo

Yeah, Raven Wing was the Iced Earth I wasn't hoping for, unfortunately. Seems like they're stuck in a pattern, where every album has some songs with energetic power/thrash that almost always works out great, and some slower, more traditional heavy metal tracks that tend to vary in quality, and Raven Wing seems like a middling one. I still plan on listening to the album, but I guess at this point I can't expect them to break out of their bad habits, so it will probably be another solid but unspectacular album as usual.
