Can't say I've ever been a big follower of them despite owning several albums, but new Sepultura is just about to drop and is sounding quite promising:

New one incoming from the UK's Dark Forest:
I'm not thrilled with the artwork this time around, but I'm always hyped for new music from these guys. For my money they have been one of the best new trad metal acts of the last decade.

^ Hyped for that one. They've always proven you can never really know what they're going to do.

Gives me a vibe of a mix of their most recent two with the ones prior to that like Tragic Idol. Edited by adg211288 - 20 Mar 2020 at 10:03am |

Forgot to mention it but Cirith Ungol are set to release a new album called 'Forever Black' come April 24th. Here's a song from said album: Sounds pretty awesome if I do say so myself!

Just to save making a separate thread for it, not from an album (I presume, might well end up a bonus track one day) but Allegaeon just released a pretty storming yet faithful metal take on the Yes classic Roundabout.

I'm a big Yes fan and while the original is untouchable they do a pretty good job. I like it.

Not a metal album but Midnight Odyssey just released a surprise ambient album today. This is one of these releases that ironically would never have existed without the Covid-19 pandemic.
It's also completely free. |

There's a new Havok album coming out next month, don't know what to expect though. Nick Schendzielos isn't in the band anymore unfortunately, and his incredible bass playing is a big part of what made their last album sound so great and fresh. The new guy's got big shoes to fill, hopefully he can.

I've always found them a bit run-of-the-mill. Solid, but not remarkable. Still, would be worth a listen.

The upcoming Haken album could be their heaviest album yet, if this track is anything to go by:
