The new Hail Spirit Noir drops on Friday. My order of the CD is scheduled for next Tuesday though. I expect I won't be able to resist the accompanying mp3 until then - I've already clocked up 14 plays of The First Ape on New Earth and seven for Crossroads on Last.fm.

No ETA on this yet because of the pandemic, but the recently departed Nervosa members have announced a new project which has just been signed with plans to record as soon as the current world situation allows.
The new group will play death metal rather than thrash metal and is called Crypta. The line-up also features an ex-Burning Witches member. Given that Nervosa play growly thrash I'm confident that the jump to death metal will not be a problem for them. One to watch out for I think.

This sounds promising based on the single:
 I reviewed their debut way back when, though they had a male vocalist then. I picked up on them again because of Cammie Gilbert being on the new Ayreon. Love the artwork on this one too. |

^ I picked up on them on 2016's Winter, thought it so good I bought it in fact. Follow up Banished Heart just didn't hit the spot for reasons I can't remember now. Certainly want to check this new one out though.

New Alpha Wolf album coming in September, new single is fantastic:
I am fucking loving the Australian nu-metalcore scene. Bands like Dealer, Alpha Wolf, and Apate are cranking out some of the best metal in a long time.

 Doubt Morse will go full metal (ever) but I thought I'd drop this here. Title does at least have echoes of his most metal album to date (apparently due to his mishearing something his wife said). Stuck it in Non-Metal here for now, but some of his recent releases have ended up in MR, so you never know.

Not Neal's best song IMO, but I like that he's doing at least some heavy material. Maybe the track works best in context of the whole release like the ? album does.

Nightmare (France) changed vocalist once again, and have a new album coming out in October. A new video will be released later today, but I found the song on Youtube, already:
Sounds like they're going even further with the power/thrash elements of their last couple albums, and the new singer sounds fantastic, imo. I'm quite hyped, based on this track.
