LOL

Thought it may cause some fun!
I personally can't judge but I've heard it called "the new St Anger" which can't be said lightly.
Did listen to one song on youtube and musically it was horrid but the main lyrics were "Kill a Cop" over and over

The great thing about the reception of the new MA album is that one can use Reduction ad Hitleram arguments without them actually suffering from the Reduction ad Hitleram fallacy.

For those who have no idea what I am talking about:

Oh Kim I was trying to pretend myself into thinking it didn't happen! LOL
Worse than I thought...."living hardcore radical!"

And what's with the plain chord riff alternated with "scratching"?
Has MA been out of the game so long they don't realize nu metal has died!?
Now, I'm not a big fan of death metal but I do see how fans of the band, (especially being one of the genre's pioneers) would be pissed.
I almost want to say this is satiric!

I kind of hope so, because it really makes no sense.
I've youtubed a few more songs and they do seem like, pretty poor, death metal mixed with disturbed. So "Radikult" is a real odd one.

I would have to 180 and give Trey some kudos if he really did make a tongue in cheek song about "lol look how hardcore and crazy we are" LOL

That list gives me stress. I havent listened to nearly enough 2011 releases yet. I reveiw most of the things I listen to, so that explains the slow tempo in listening to new releases.

I'm actually fairly pleased with how that list looks right now, a lot of my 2011 5* ratings are up there (although my absolute top is down in #32 Unhappy

Personally though I'd rather filter that list so inclusions need a minimum of five ratings, just to keep albums with only 2 ratings trumping ones with 18: http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/TopAlbums.aspx?lstReleaseTypes=1&lstYears=2011&MinNRatings=5&MinAVGRatings=0.5&MaxResults=100#list

This has the downside of reducing the list to just 31 albums, and includes the latest Morbid Angel album with its 1.77* average Ermm

I though that I've listened to a lot of 2011 releases, but looking at the results so far I can see there's still much more to listen to.

Head on wall Gah! How could I forget about Devy!?

My bro picked up Deconstruction/Ghost and before even hearing, I assume they will be brilliant as always.
Also I believe this completes his 4 album "project" of finding himself as the new Devin Townsend...
Can't wait to hear em!

Yeah, that list ain't too in line with my tastes, but wasn't expecting it to be. Thought something like the new Krallice (they appear to have gotten good coverage on the net) would be in there, then looked at their band page not one rating.

A bit too liberal on the stars, but I guess it will level out over time.

Anyway a rather short list:
De Magia Veterum - The Divine Antithesis
Servile sect - Realms of the queen
Meth Drinker - Meth Drinker '12
Antediluvian - Revelations in Excrement

Not sure what to think about Pulling Teeth's Funerary yet (only listened to it twice), the title tracks brilliant, but need to let the rest seep in before divulging too far into a vaguely concrete opinion.

New Ash Borer and Fell Voice are pretty strong if you like atmospheric BM with post-rock influences, tho' a little dirtier than something like Fen.

Stuff I need to listen to more:
Hades Archer - For the Diabolical Ages
Negative Plane - Stained Glass Revelations
et cetera (I'm slowly losing impetus to write...)

Need to get the new Virus.

And a whole slew of disappointments.
Guai ai gelidi mostri Everything that is doddering, squint-eyed, infamous, sullying, and grotesque is contained for me in this single word: God Andr Breton

To those who know my tastes (Colin, Brian), what new albums would you recommend me? I've only heard Unexpect, Fen, Grayceon, Virus and Liturgy this year.
