I want to know what your lowest rated album on this site is.
Mine so far is Death Magnetic (1.5*), which I found unlistenable on so many levels. The worst thing is Kirk Hammett's e-minor pentatonic wah-wah w**king solos; I don't think the dude even knows what he is doing. |

I generally dont give out many low ratings. Most of my low ratings are for lo-fi demo releases. Here are a couple of studio releases that Ive rated really low though.

I love Death Magnetic <3
What's not to love for a thrash head? It's thrashy, nothing but riffs and is actually one of the better composed albums Metallica has written (and we know how their songwriting has gotten flak from me!) Also I though all his solos were the same?? Kirk is not the most gifted of guitarists Anywho: My lowest ratings are these 1 star albums: ReLoad by Metallica Nattens Madrigal by Ulver God Hate Us All by Slayer Risk by Megadeth Omnimalevolence by Unholy Trinity Though it's that last one which is the worst. All the others gave me some enjoyment, while that one probably should be dropped to .5 It was a completely random purchase that turned out to be a shitty black metal album (even for black metal) So that's my worst album really. I need to listen more, but MA's most recent could get a .5 but even that would be more enjoyable Edited by The Angry Scotsman - 08 Jul 2011 at 3:29pm |

Even for Slayer standards those lyrics are atrocious! Musically, IMHO, its a combo of stale/bad choices/overall not good and the quality makes me cry. Those are about it, I try my best to avoid that 1 star range and long as there is something good there I'll throw it some pity |

Hey now, a couple of the tracks from it have even become live staples for Slayer. That may be stupidity on their part, but who am I to judge that?

Hey this is all our personal beliefs right?
I think its horrendous but Slayer can do as they please! And I can see why many fans would enjoy it. And seriously, Morbid Angel's latest is down there. I'm not even really a fan so I'm not biased. It's pretty poor death metal and industrial, with nu metal influence?? The vocals are pretty bad, production is weird, I hate the drums. It's close to having nothing redeemable at all. I, luckily haven't listened to that yet. Oh, and I'd like to clear up that I don't think Death Magnetic is the worst metal album I've heard. It is just the worst I've bothered to rate here :P

I'll stick to ones I've reviewed for this, rather than just ratings, since I have to be honest, much more thought goes into a review than using the quick rating thing.
At the moment, these four are my lowest rated reviews, all at 1 Star. Elvenking - The Scythe: http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/the-scythe--review.aspx?id=228877 Amaranthe - Amaranthe: http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/amaranthe--review.aspx?id=239794 Sepultura - Roots: http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/roots--review.aspx?id=235173 Slayer - God Hates Us All: http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/god-hates-us-all--review.aspx?id=228780

My original Roots rating was slightly higher, around 1.5 or even 2 stars, because I actually reviewed that years ago, the review I have on here is just updated. I lose more and more interest in the album all the time. Maybe it will end up a 0.5 eventually.
The sad thing is even our favourite bands can have a dud album. My case in point would be the Elvenking one, and to a lesser degree the Sepultura.

Virtual XI is pretty bad, that is true. I don't think it's even my least favourite Maiden, though.
I see I rated X-Factor lower, at 2* Edited by Triceratopsoil - 08 Jul 2011 at 4:23pm |

There isn't one Maiden album I'd say is 'bad', but that one is my lowest rated studio album. Still 3 stars for me though.

No truer words were ever spoken. My lowest rating is Dream Theater's greatest hits album, it's a real shame the ever released it, my favorite band released my worst rated album. |

See, its THAT type of stuff that warrants .5 ratings. No matter how shit it is, most bands can have moments of decency. Electric grindcore about rape is the bottom of the bucket though |
