It really is, I was worried they couldn't pull off another great album... most bands don't have that many in them. Thankfulyl Mastodon indeed do.

Now that 2011 draws closer to its end some more have been added to the list.
I really like Heritage but IMO it's not really a metal album so I can't include it. The Hunter will most likely make the list and just listened to Empros and I was floored after one listen, and it'll only get better. Still the new AAL which I've not yet heard. |

Great album indeed and nice guys too. Ive had a bit of correspondence with Pablo in the last couple of years and he is a really nice guy. I wish them all the best in finding a label to release their album.

I've underlined a few of these that I like quite a bit too. I haven't heard all of these, though... looks like I need to check em out!

We live on an unfair world, where a band like Random need to release their album for free to be recognized... |

Thinking about this, but I'm going to dig deeper leading up to the end of the year. As of right now, here are some things that might be in my top 20 (in no determined order yet).
Mastodon The Hunter Arch/Matheos Sympathetic Resonance Blut Aus Nord 777 Sect(s) Devin Townsend Project Deconstruction Sulaco Build & Burn Russian Circles Empros Burzum Fallen Altar of Plagues - Mammal Graviton Massless (only heard 3 songs thus far though ) Lock Up Necropolis Transparent Falls Of Rauros The Light That Dwells in Rotten Wood SubRosa - No Help For The Mighty Ones Unkind - Harhakuvat Jesu Ascension Alaskan Adversity; Woe Cynic's EP would definitely have a shot unless it's rather disappointing. Isn't it The Destroyers of All. Either way, I need to give this band a few re-listens. I think you'd also be into Mitochondrion's Parasignosis. |
