Yeah! a Pearl Jam discussion! I have all thier albums so far except for the new extended version of Ten that came out last year. Here's my top five...
1. Ten.
2. Vs.
3. Binaural.
4. Backspacer
5. Riot Act
My least favourite is No Code, the songs on it are amazing but the production quality is absolutely dire, even by grunge standards.

Rage Against The Machine (angsty and political...can't go wrong there)
Pixies (after all, Kurt did say he wanted to be one of them...)
Radiohead (up till OK Computer they are sufficiently distorted and depressive)
Jeff Buckley (the louder stuff mostly)
Jerry Cantrell (obviously because of AIC)
Mark Lanegan (the man behind Screaming Trees so again you can't go wrong)

My mom's a huge fan of STP! I myself had a(very short) stint w/ Days of the New for a while..It's been some time!

I love grunge!! was popular when I was in high school in the early 1990's....I think it is very similar to metal in general cause it is so hard...My favorite grunge bands are: Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots...is excellent music!! Thumbs Up
