COLD BODY RADIATION is a one-man progressive black metal / post-black metal band from Holland, Netherlands, whose sole member goes by the pseudonym ''M''. The project was formed sometime in 2009 and has since released two full-lengths: 2010's ''The Great White Emptiness'' and 2011's ''Deer Twilight'', both on the Dusktone label. In 2013 Cold Body Radiation released his first single, The Longest Shadows Ever Cast.
Cold Body Radiation's music is stylistically and sonically black metal, but incredibly heavy in atmosphere and mood, oftentimes incorporating more elements of shoegaze, drone, post-rock, and ambient than abrasive metal. Shrieks and blast-beats reminiscent of Enslaved or early Ihsahn give way to passages of effects-laden tremolo guitars and layered post-rock melodies familiar to fans of bands like Alcest or Altar Of Plagues, and for stretches of time weaving in extremely dense and rhythmless soundscapes closer in style to ambient artists like Bioshere.
