Mammoth Grinder is a US band from Austin in Texas who began life in 2005 as a sludge metal/hardcore punk act, also drawing on grindcore. The band released its debut album Rage and Ruin in 2008 in this style.
By the time of the band's second album Extinction of Humanity in 2009 the group was drawing on sludge a bit less, resulting in a more hardcore/crust punk dominant sound.
Mammoth Grinder broke up in 2014 having released three albums, but reformed in 2017 and released a fourth album Cosmic Crypt in 2018, now playing a death metal based sound.
