RKL (Rich Kids on LSD) is an American hardcore punk band from Montecito, California formed in 1982. They released their debut studio album in 1985. The band began to mix metal elements with their second studio album. The band first broke up in 1989.
Drummer Richard "Bomer" Manzullo went on to form a new band Slang, which eventually contained many of his former RKL bandmates. They were signed to Epitaph Records, and had recorded an album in 1992. Just before its release in 1993, Epitaph owner Brett Gurewitz decided to release it as an RKL album with the title Reactivate. The album had a much different sound, having little to do with hardcore punk, rather being a funk metal album. Due to this, many fans were disappointed.
