Ryokuchi / 緑血 was an experimental sludge metal band from Osaka, Japan originally consisting of five members that formed in January of 2002.
In 2003, they released a split CD "Loud Creative" with Disco 4 Channel on S.M.D. Records and were included on a compilation album "Bishamon" that featured thirteen experimental bands from Osaka, USA, and Europe the following year.
In 2005, the band toured Hawaii with another Osaka band, Birushanah. While Birushanah was adding musicians to its line-up, Ryokuchi decided to become a two piece band with Harada on fretless bass and Imagami on drums.
In March of 2006, Ryokuchi released their debut album "Shinsho" and toured nationally and Australia with Birushanah. In 2007, they released a split album with Australian band Firewitch.
Melding traditional Japanese scales with elements of doom and hardcore, Ryokuchi disbanded in 2008.
