24-7 Spyz is an American funk metal band formed in South Bronx, New York. Forming in 1986, they were among the first bands to infuse funk, metal, soul, and hardcore. They released their debut studio album, Harder Than You, in 1989. It featured a cover of Kool & the Gang's "Jungle Boogie", and their cover was the first video to air on each of MTV's specialty shows: 120 Minutes, Yo! MTV Raps, Hard 60, and Headbanger's Ball.
After the release of their second album, the band was opening for Jane's Addiction on their Ritual De Lo Habitual tour. The band broke up in 1998, but reformed in 2003 and released their most recent album "Face the Day" three years later.
