7th Symphony (第七樂章) is a progressive metal band from Taiwan / Republic Of China. 7th Symphony was formed by singer Jackie (Yongchang), guitarist Sean (Xiaoen), bassist Roy (Yonghe), keyboard player Gary (Ji Hua), and drummer Brand (Adelaide) while in the army in 1996.
7th Symphony played their first concert in 1997. By the end of 1998 the band was the runner up in a Yamaha sponsored national band competition. The next year, 7th Symphony played at various events including the Formoz Festival, Spring Scream, etc. They were also interviewed on public television and recorded their first single, Monkey Dancing. The single also appeared on a compilation album in 2000.
In 2001 and five years into their military career the band recorded their debut album, The Perdition (破滅), released on Sony in 2002.
