ABANDONED STARS is a progressive metal band formed in Edinburgh, Scotland in July 2010 by vocalist Oliver Hadder, drummer Tony Hodge, guitarist Guiseppe Schiavone, and bassist Leen. The band continues the progressive metal trends set by the likes of Dream Theater, Symphony X, Angra, and perhaps even sprinklings of Opeth as well. While the music has a very strong progressive metal and progressive rock element, the band also has a strong showing of power metal mixed in too. The band's debut EP, ''Opening Act'', was released in 2011.
