Almanac is a new project started in 2015 by former Rage guitarist Victor Smolski, with the plans of continuing the unique mix of power metal and classical music he started first with the Suite Lingua Mortis from Rage's 2006 album Speak of the Dead, and then expanded upon with their 2013 side project Lingua Mortis Orchestra, for which Victor composed all the songs.
He has brought along vocalist Jeannette Marchewka as well as the Orquestra Barcelona Filharmonia and White Russian Symphony Orchestra from Lingua Mortis Orchestra. Additional members include vocalists Andy B. Franck (Brainstorm) and David Readman (Pink Cream 69), bassist Armin Alić, keyboardist Enrik Garcia and drummer Michael Kolar.
In March 2016 the band is releasing their debut, titled Tsar.
