Athanor is a progressive metal band from Bergerac in Aquitaine, France.
Formed in 1997 as an idea by Thierry Louton, the original desire was to deliver a musical epilogue. Thierry was to provide the lyrics for the project and guitarist and bassist Thomas Billerey wrote the music. The composition process took them 5 years.
