Athens is a metalcore band from Modesto in California, formed in 2002.

Athens was rooted in Modesto California with a plan to deliver hardcore fans their new favorite band. Athens was first formed in 2002 under an alternate name, but a shift in members and musical direction found them playing a more heavier, metal influenced brand of hardcore.
After countless tours, festivals and BBQ's Athens continues to show promise in the music scene. They bring a lot to the table, offering fans their laid-back California attitudes combined with hard-hitting breakdowns, off the wall thrashy guitar riffs, and an intensely mesmerizing live show.
Indeed the band's raw talent for performing live and building relationships with their fans has allowed them to develop their devout and geographically diverse fan base.
