AtomA is a Sweden post-metal / progressive metal band from Stockholm in Sweden, formed in 2011 after previous band "Slumber" split up.
Regarding the band's name origin, in an interview for Grande Rock, the vocalist and keyboardist Ehsan said "the Greek meaning of Atoma was an inspiration, and also Atomic bomb was a huge factor in the name building. An explosion of colors and feelings and the tension between beauty and horror".
The band's music is difficult to define. AtomA, according to their official websites, play essentially "atmospheric post-metal" with rock influences. However, when listening to the debut album, one can find elements of post and progressive rock, symphonic and progressive metal, or electronic and ambient music.
