Aurora was a NWoBHM / heavy metal band from Manchester in Lancashire, formed in 1982.
Previously known as A II Z (previous guitarist Gary Owens replaced by Ferguson 1982). Began recording second album for Polydor when they were suddenly dropped.
Band carried on for a while but disbanded.
Ferguson attempted to reignite the band's fortunes with the self-financed single which, although critically acclaimed, did not sell in sufficient numbers to rekindle record interest.
Simon Wright went on to join Dio and AC DC, and later the reformed UFO in the mid 90's. Dave Owens continued writing and recording until the early 90's.
Tony Backhouse left the music industry following A II Z's split. He became a builder.
Dunc Ferguson is now a physiotherapist having supplied library music to Sky TV for a number of years.
