Getting the stick right in the face – but gently, please!
“…nothing to expect but pain” – according to this plain statement the German metalband “Barbie on Deathtrip” combines hardcore riffs with catchy melodies. This means fierce growls with clean vocals, mean guitar riffs, a driving bass and drums as keen as a razor – but it´s not just mixed thoroughly. It´s rather intelligently portioned.
The guys around singer Markus Lemke are anything but noobs in music business. For instance, Claudio Sisto already drummed for bands like “Mystic Prophecy” and “Contracrash”. Guitarist Andreas Nesch played several hundreds of gigs in German-speaking Central Europe with his band “Woodpeckers”. But all of the musicians were looking for new challenges when they founded “Barbie on Deathtrip”. In the words of Barney Stinson: “Challenge accepted”!
