The year was 1998 and they called themselves No Brakes. From the very start they rehearsed pretty much every day and did a few live performances every now and then, mostly through their church and the community music school. Their music was inspired by bands like Tourniquet, Nirvana and Metallica and originally Henric was the lead singer, not Robert.
Six or seven years passed and No Brakes started performing live more outside of their county, a lot thanks to the music competition called Musik Direkt that Benesser attended for the first time in 2005. They won the competition for their province the following year.
2007 brought a milestone for how Benesser sound today. This year My Ego was written and the three started finding their own sound, still rehearsing a lot and experimenting with different kinds of sounds. They still called themselves No Brakes but at this time they all felt like
