Bisbâyé is a progressive math metal band from Montréal in Quebec. The band was formed in by guitarist and composer Jean-Pierre Larouche, and also features Antoine Desbiens on guitars.
Bisbâyé delivers instrumental music with iterative complex polyrhythms that applies improvisation to dense sound masses. Bisbâyé also breaks their metal framework by including open sections, jazzy experimental improvisations and variations in tempo. Bisbâyé self-released their first demo album, I, in 2000 and followed up with an EP, II, in 2003.
Influenced by bands like Don Caballero and Meshuggah, Bisbâyé debuted on stage October 19, 2005 at La Casa Del Popolo in Montreal.
