Blackwych roots started out in 1982, the origin of the line up came from a band still playing in Kildare from time to time called Warlock.
After Declan joined the band in 82 following an ad for a second guitarist, there were lots of local gigs and plenty of rehearsing in the back gardens etc. As time went on a good raport developed between the guitars and the band got a good thing going, There were some early line up changes, the band singer Martin Doyle left, and Ciaran Canning joined. More gigs, rehearsing and recording at Eddy Donavans place, and then the band got a break, a recording release on the Green Metal, but needed to change their name, because Warlock was in use by a UK recording outfit, So they became Blackwych.
