BUSHWHACK is a progressive metal band based in New Haven, Connecticut formed by keyboardist Frank Sacamore, bassist Sean McCuster, guitarist and vocalist Jamie van Dyck, and vocalist-drummer Ben Shanbrom around 2006. The band's sound hearkens back heavily to well known acts such as Porcupine Tree and Dream Theater, and the classic progressive metal sound, alongside more experimental and alternative styles
Despite still being in college, the four guys managed to record a debut self titled album in 2007 and then follow it with an EP "Canvas" in 2010.
