Canker is a death-thrash metal band from Granada in Spain. Canker was formed in October 1990 from the union of two local bands, Revelation and Death Noise. The original line up was Miguel Robles on drums, Paco Clemót on guitar, Juan Miguel (Indio) on bass and Miguel Hernandez on guitar and vocals. The band used the proceeds from their first performances to record their first self-titled demo. The demo, Canker, was released in early 1991, selling about 2,000 copies.
Paco Clemot (guitar) was to leave the band to be replaced by Ramon Astorga. Later Canker was to perform at a benefit concert to help victims of AIDS, where they met Javier Gonzalez who offered to act as the group’s manager and who set up several successful performances. . From there came several performances, leading to a recording deal with the label Romilar D.
