Catacombe is a post-rock band from Vale de Cambra in Portugal that incorporates elements of post-metal into its sound.
Formed in the middle of 2007, Catacombe was started as a one man project by Pedro Sobast, who recorded and produced the debut EP, Memoirs. Memoirs was a mixture of instrumental modern metal and post-rock. In September 2008, Catacombe made a transition from a one-man endeavor to a full-blown band, introducing musicians Sérgio Soares (Bass), Eduardo Costa (guitar), Paulo Kwane (drums) and Cristiano Moreira (keyboards/samples).
During 2009 after playing live with bands such as A Storm Of Light, My Own Private Alaska, Minsk and Slamo, Catacombe started writing new songs for the debut full-length. Kinetic was released late in 2010 and mastered by James Plotkin (known from his work for Isis, Khanate, Pelican and Earth).
