Chiaroscuro was an excellent progressive metal band from the Seattle/Washington state area that released one album BRILLIANT POOLS OF DARKNESS and disbanded before recording a second album, though there were demo tracks of songs intended for the second album on the internet at one point. The music of the band was very original for the progressive metal scene, merging the playing ability of bands like Dream Theater with the dark vibe and groove of Devin Townsend and more modern metal bands like Fear Factory.
