Creaming Jesus was a Gothic Metal band formed in London in 1987. The band combined a love of metal/hardcore and heavy percussion with Gothic imagery to create a unique sound of their own.
Original vocalist Lil left after three gigs, and eventually set up the Household Names Records label. Guitarist Paul Scanlan left following the release of their first 3 12" EPs, and has since played guitar in Akercocke.
The band released four albums and a handful of shorter releases.
The band's final performance in 1994 was at the Venue in New Cross, South London, which was recorded and later released by Jungle Records as "End Of An Error".
The song "Reptile" from made an appearance in an episode of the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, renewing interest in the band.
