David Valdés is a Spanish virtuoso guitarist. He started playing the guitar at 13, and his early musical influences draw from old school death metal bands, such as Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Obituary or Suffocation. Later, he would listen to and learn from guitar wizards like Yngwie Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert, Marty Friedman or Dimebag Darrell.
David is a self-taught musician and has a very polished and masterful technique. His playing style can be described mostly as neoclassical metal with clear influences from the aforementioned Yngwie Malmsteen, Marty Friedman (early work with Cacophony) and Jason Becker.
Apart from having collaborated with several minor black metal bands and local acts, the Spanish guitarist has released three studio albums so far, as well as a couple of instructional DVDs oriented towards guitar players. His three records are the following: "Paradise Lost" (2002), "Imhotep" (2006) and "World in Obscure" (2013).
