Deadsy is an American new wave and synthpop-influenced alternative metal band from Los Angeles, California. The band formed in 1995 by Elijah Blue Allman and Alec Puro. After adding Renn Hawkey on keyboards to the lineup, the band signed to Sire Records and began work on their self-titled debut. The album was released for promotion in 1996 and again in 1997.
In 1997, Sire Records split from Elektra. Deadsy was currently working on their second album, Commencement, at this time. The album was originally planned for a fall 1999 release, but was pushed back by the label. Eventually, the band was dropped altogether and Commencement wouldn't be released until 2002 after signing with DreamWorks Records. Allman listed Gary Numan, Type O Negative, and Black Sabbath as influences for the album.
The band signed to Immortal Records to release their third album, Phantasmagore, in 2006. They were invited onto the 2006 Family Values
